Lesson 4 – Various types of doors

If you have followed the “Course in order to become Hacker up to here, then you have understood that in the computer science world the addresses exist in order to localize the computers and the doors in order to enter in the computers. Today we see instead which are the differences between the several doors that we can meet.
Imagined a palace, with two types of doors… a type we will call it TCP and other type UDP. The first tipologia of door also that more is used, is stable, sturdy, enough heavy and reliable. The second door instead, the UDP, are also snella, fast and more light.
TCP and UDP come also calls “protocols “.

This distinction between the two type of protocol will serve to us more ahead, in lesson 6, when it is attempted to take advantage of the holes found on the attacked computers. We begin however to speak of now in such way to take familiarity with the concept.

Between doors TCP more used we find door 80, 443, 22, 23, 21 and thus via… between doors UDP instead we find the 53, 123, 161, etc etc

Doors UDP are a lot used in order to make as an example telephone Voip (for the simple fact that are a protocol lacking in some type of flow control and therefore much light and fast one); doors TCP instead are used for the web as an example, as like saying before the TCP is a protocol much reliable one, but to contempo heavier of the UDP own for the fact that has more controls.

When it must enter within a system is not closely necessary to know the difference between TCP and UDP, but it only must know if the door from which we want to enter in the computer is of type TCP or type UDP.

As an example if we know that the computer that we are attacking has the opened door 12345/TCP, the important is that we do not try to enter on the 12345/UDP, since a lot probably that UDP is sluice.

Therefore having two various tipologie of doors it is as if the number total of doors that a system could have is 131,070 since 65,535 doors TCP exist and 65,535 doors UDP (than added ago 131,070).

Oggi vediamo invece quali sono le differenze fra le varie porte che possiamo incontrare . Today we see instead what are the differences between the various ports that we might encounter.
Immaginate un palazzo, con due tipi di porte… un tipo lo chiameremo TCP e l’altro tipo UDP . Imagine a building with two types of doors … we will call a type TCP and UDP, the other guy. La prima tipologia di porta è anche quella più utilizzata, è stabile, robusta, abbastanza pesante e affidabile. The first type of door is also the most used, is stable, sturdy, fairly heavy and reliable. La seconda porta invece, la UDP, è anche la più snella, veloce e leggera. The second door instead, the UDP, is also the most agile, fast and lightweight.
TCP e UDP vengono anche chiamati “ protocolli “. TCP and UDP are also called “protocols”.Questa distinzione tra i due tipo di protocollo ci servirà più avanti, nella lezione 6, quando si cercherà di sfruttare i buchi trovati sui computer attaccati. Iniziamo comunque a parlarne adesso in modo tale da prendere dimestichezza con il concetto. Le porte UDP sono molto usate per fare telefonate Voip ad esempio (per il semplice fatto che è un protocollo privo di alcun tipo di controllo di flusso e quindi molto leggero e veloce); le porte TCP invece sono usate per il web ad esempio, in quanto come detto prima il TCP è un protocollo molto affidabile, ma al contempo più pesante dell’UDP proprio per il fatto che ha più controlli . UDP ports are widely used to make VoIP calls for example (the simple fact that a protocol is free from any kind of flow control, and thus very lightweight and fast) TCP ports are used instead for the web, for example, in but as said before the TCP protocol is a very reliable, but at the same time heavier dell’UDP precisely because it has more controls.

Quando bisogna entrare dentro un sistema non è strettamente necessario conoscere la differenza tra TCP e UDP , ma bisogna solamente sapere se la porta dalla quale vogliamo entrare nel computer è di tipo TCP o di tipo UDP. Ad esempio se sappiamo che il computer che stiamo attaccando ha la porta 12345/TCP aperta, l’importante è che non cerchiamo di entrare sulla 12345/UDP, dato che molto probabilmente quella UDP è chiusa. Quindi avendo due diverse tipologie di porte è come se il numero totale di porte che un sistema potrebbe avere è 131.070 dato che esistono 65.535 porte TCP e 65.535 porte UDP (che sommato fa 131.070). Di conseguenza non sforzatevi più di tanto a capire quale differenza ci sia tra TCP e UDP . Therefore do not strain too much to understand what difference there is between TCP and UDP. L’importante, come detto prima, è che non ci si sbagli di porta quando si cerca di entrare nel computer che state attaccando. The key, as said before, is that there are wrong port when trying to enter the computer that was attacked.
